Royal County Down Golf Club looks set to host the 2024 Horizon Irish Open.
The par 71 course last hosted the Irish Open in 2015 when Soren Kjeldsen defeated Bernd Wiesberger and Eddie Pepperell in a three-way playoff.
Confirmation appeared to come in a social media post from Royal County Down professional shop which was later deleted, with official confirmation yet to arrive.
It would mark the fourth time the Co Down course has staged the event, and in recent years has hosted the 2007 Walker Cup, the 2012 Palmer Cup and the Ladies European Team Championship in 2021
This year's Horizon Irish Open will take place at the K Club on 6-10 September, with Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Séamus Power all confirmed to attend.
The €6million event is part of a six-year deal with the DP World Tour that will see it hosted on the Palmer North course in 2025 and 2027 as well.
