Lahinch golfer Aine Donegan will make her professional debut at the US Women's Open at Pebble Beach after securing qualification at the Peninsula Golf Club.

Donegan, who plays out of Louisiana State University, finished second with a 36-hole total of 145 to secure her place at next month's major.

She placed four shots adrift of Kelly Xu, and one stroke clear of Miranda Wang in third.

Donegan will be the second Irish player in the field at Pebble Beach from 6-9 July, with world number 19 Leona Maguire among the contenders, seeking her first major title.
