Shane Lowry has confirmed his participation at this year's Horizon Irish Open which will take place at the K Club on 6-10 September.

The Offaly native will be joining a field containing Rory McIlroy and Séamus Power for the event.

"I still get goosebumps when I think of my victory in 2009 and a lot of that was down to the reaction I received on the 18th green," said Lowry.

"The fans are so supportive of all of the Irish golfers in the field and we love putting on a show for them. The K Club is a fantastic venue too, so I'm looking forward to getting back there."

The K Club will be hosting the Irish Open for the first time since 2016 and will do so again in 2025 and 2027.

Lowry, tied for 16th at The Masters last weekend, finished tied for ninth at the 2022 Irish Open which was won by Poland's Adrian Meronk.
