In-form Leona Maguire is in a three-way tie for third, just two shots off the lead at the season-ending Andalucia Open de Espana after carding a round of 70 on the penultimate day of action at Alferini Golf.
Maguire, who filled the runner-up berth Lydia Ko in last week's lucrative CME Group Tour Championship in Florida, registered a bogey on the second hole, but birdies followed on holes four, 11, 12 and 17 to move the world number 11 to 12 under for the tournament.
Morgane Metraux of Switzerland leads the way on 14 under after a round of 67.
Seventeen-year-old Spanish amateur Cayetana Fernandez and Caroline Hedwall of Sweden share second place with Maguire.
Halfway leader Fernandez recorded a round of 72, with Hedwall carding a 69.
Fernandez's compatriot Carlota Ciganda is one shot further back in her title defence after her 68, with a two-shot break to Cara Gainer, Carla Tejedo and Linn Grant in sixth.
Reflecting on her round Maguire said: "It was pretty steady. I didn't really hole any putts. I left myself above the hole a lot, which made it quite tricky.
"I’m two shots back, I will just try and post a low round tomorrow and see what happens.
"I think you have to keep it tight through the first few holes and then there’s some chances on the back nine.
"Hopefully, I’ll get off to a little bit of a quick start tomorrow and then take advantage of the shorter holes on the back nine."
