The Cavan golfer moved to nine-under-par following a round of 69. Birdies on three, six, 11 and 16 and no dropped shots elsewhere, constituted a steady round for Maguire, who now occupies 11th spot in the Rolex Women's Golf World Rankings after her runners-up finish in the CME Group Tour Championship in Florida.
Amateur Frenandez leads the way on 11-under. A run of birdies on four, five and six and five more on the back nine has her one clear of Sweden's Linn Grant.
It's a crowded leaderboard with four players sharing fourth spot on eight under.
