Seamus Power has won the Butterfield Bermuda Championship by one shot to give him a second victory on the PGA Tour.

The Waterford native carded a final round of 70 at the Port Royal Golf course to finish ahead of Belgium's Thomas Detry.

Power had a share of the lead going into day four and started well with three birdies on the front nine. A couple more followed on 14 and 17 and while bogeys, including one at the last did spoil his card on the way home, the Irishman had enough done in what was an up and down round.

Victory at the Barbasol Championship in July 2021 was Power's maiden success on Tour.

FINAL ROUND LEADERBOARD

"This course was always going to be a tale of two sides," Power told Sky Sports.

"You're going to make some birdies on the front and I knew it was going to be really hard coming in.

"I made hard work of it in the end, but I'm delighted to get it done."

Power added: "It's a completely different feeling (to the first win) but it's just as special. I play a lot of tournaments and it's going to take a little while to sink in."

Power has made no secret of his ambition to represent Europe at the Ryder Cup in Rome next September and with England's Jordan Smith winning the Portuguese Masters earlier on Sunday, Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald expressed his delight over the form of some potential European team members.

Donald tweeted: "Smith, Power, Detry - 1,1,2. Very happy with that. A good week for European golf."

He is now up to a career-high 32 in the world rankings and eighth on Europe's Ryder Cup points list.
