Irish international Annabel Wilson is through to the semi-finals of the US Women's Amateur Championship at Chambers Way, Washington.

Having come through strokeplay qualifying, the 21-year old from Lurgan, now a senior at UCLA, has not been behind in any of her four matches. In her quarter final against Catherine Rao (Camarillo, California), there was never more than a hole in it until Wilson won the 15th, 16th and 17th for a 3&1 victory.

"It's the first time I’ve ever played this course in the wind, and it really picked up on the back nine," said Wilson. "It becomes a completely different strategy. I had to adapt, and I did that well out there."

Wilson will face Monet Chun (Canada) in today's semi-final starting at 7pm Irish time.
