Justin Thomas missed the cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge on Friday, a week after winning the PGA Championship.

Thomas defeated fellow American Will Zalatoris in a three-hole play-off to claim the PGA title last week, but finished at three-over in Texas.

Scottie Scheffler was one of three players tied for the lead on nine-under at the end of the second round, along with compatriots Beau Hossler and Scott Stallings.

"I think I needed to put up a good score with the wind being real low and the greens being not crazy firm," Scheffler told the PGA Tour website.

On his bogey-free week, he added: "Yeah, I love that stat. It's a lot of fun…I kept the stress off myself for the most part."
