Phil Mickelson has registered to play at the PGA Championship and the US Open, as well as seeking an exemptions to participate at the inaugural Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia-funded LIV Golf Invitational at the Centurion Club in England in June.
Mickelson has been absent from competitive golf for three months since making controversial comments about plans for a Saudi-backed golf league supposed to rival the PGA Tour.
"Our client Phil Mickelson is officially registered to play in the PGA Championship as well as the US Open,'’ the six-time major winner's agent Steve Loy said in a statement.
"We have also filed a request on his behalf for a release to play in the first LIV Golf Invitational in London, 9-11 June. This request complies with the deadline of 25 April set forth by the PGA Tour to compete in a conflicting tour event.
"Phil currently has no concrete plans on when and where he will play. Any actions taken are in no way a reflection of a final decision made, but rather to keep all options open."
Mickelson lost several sponsors as the result of his comments and with Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau quickly joining the game's biggest names in pledging their loyalty to the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy felt the proposed breakaway was "dead in the water".
However, with a proposed league shelved until 2024 in favour of hugely lucrative individual events, some players have been tempted to seek releases from the PGA and DP World Tours in order to play at Centurion Club.
Meanwhile, it's been announced that Donald Trump's 'Blue Monster' course will host the inaugural season finale in the series.
The Trump National Doral Miami will stage the season-ending $50m competition from 27-30 October.
The matchplay tournament will see the victors share a cut of $16m.
Two-time Open Championship winner Greg Norman is the first chief executive of the new league.
"I am very much looking forward to October to watch these teams go head-to-head to compete for the largest prize purse in tournament history," said Norman.
"There could not be a more perfect location to host our biggest event of the year at a course with such a long history with professional golfers, and we are excited to add another piece of history to this famed destination."
