Leona Maguire fell just on the wrong side of the cut-line at the LA Open in Wilshire CC.
Maguire carded a second successive 73, five birdies being cancelled out by five bogeys, with a double-bogey tossed in on the par-3 7th.
She finished on four over par for the competition, with the cut at three over.
Stephanie Meadow carded a steadier 72 on Friday but her opening round of 77 leaves her at seven over.
Setting the pace at the head of the leaderboard were Korea's Jin-Young Ko and Japan's Nasa Hataoka on seven-under par, two strokes clear of Hannah Green in sole possession of third spot.
The Korean lit up the Friday round with a 64, while Hataoka followed her opening round 67 with a 68.
