Stephanie Meadow is seeking a high finish at the first Major of the year following a brilliant third round at the Chevron Championship – but Leona Maguire has dropped down the leaderboard after a disappointing outing on Saturday.
With American Jennifer Kupcho racing clear – she was 14 under par after ten holes late last night – Meadow and Maguire were realistically too far back to get into contention.
Meadow had just made it inside the cut line and started the day on one over par, but a superb 67 saw her finish just outside the top 20 ahead of Sunday's action.
The Antrim player started with a birdie and picked up another at the ninth. She would claim three more on the back nine to sit on four under for the tournament.
Maguire had started her round on three under and just six shots back, but while she responded to her opening bogey with a birdie at two, she would go on to drop shots at the 13th and 15th holes to leave the Cavan golfer on one under par.
