Shane Lowry carded a second round 67 to move to three-under par at the Honda Classic, but the halfway leader is Daniel Berger who sits top of the standings on 10-under par after a second successive 65.

Lowry, who opened with a 70, picked up two birdies on the front nine and matched the feat on the back nine, with a single bogey at par-3 15th after finding the bunker from the tee.

The Offaly man is tied for eighth and seven shots off the lead, while Padraig Harrington will play no further part in the Florida tournament after first appearance of the year on the PGA Tour came to an early end.

The three-time major winner's round of 70 saw him finish on three-over par.

Berger admitted to hitting "a lot of quality shots" as he carded a five-under 65 for the second day in a row.

He leads by three from compatriots Chris Kirk and Kurt Kitayama who shot 68 and 69 respectively.

Mark Hubbard and Canada's Adam Svensson are a shot further back on six under.

Berger was happy he rose to the challenge the course posed him.

"I hit a lot of quality shots, even though they don’t look like they’re five feet from the hole, or ten feet from the hole," he said. "I know that they’re so difficult, that to hit it to 20 feet is a good shot.

"And that’s the challenge for this golf course is the pins are tucked, the greens are firm, wind’s up, so you have to be really on point with where you’re going to miss."
