Irish duo Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow squeezed inside the projected cut line in the season opening event at the Gainbridge LPGA in Florida.
Beginning on the 10th, Maguire recovered from a double bogey on 17, with a strong inward nine, carding birdies on the 2nd, 3rd and 8th to get to one-under par, two strokes inside the cut-line but 10 off the leading pair.
Starting the day at three-over par, Meadow rallied with an impressive 69 on Friday to climb back to even par, carding four birdies with just one dropped stroke.
Two-time major winner Lydia Ko has been joined at the head of the field by America's Danielle Kang, both on 11-under par. Ko followed up her opening round of 63 with a more modest effort of 70 on Friday, with Kang going 65 and 68 over the two days.
The pair have opened up a gap on the rest, sitting four strokes clear of Yuka Saso and Jodie Ewart Shadoff in joint third.
