Leona Maguire dropped out of the top ten on the final day of the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Florida.

The Cavan native started the day in seventh place but fell five places to end in a tie for 12th place following a two-under 70 in her fourth round.

Maguire lost ground on the leaders with a bogey on the first hole and while the two-time Olympian got the shot back on the sixth hole, she was too far off the pace to mount a challenge.

Two further birdies on the back nine kept Maguire well placed on the leaderboard and ended up on 14 under for the tournament, nine shots behind winner Jin Young Ko, who took the $1.5m first prize.

Celine Boutier from France was the best-placed European in a share of third place, while world number one, Nelly Korda, ended up in a tie for fifth place.
