Will Zalatoris rocketed up the Sanderson Farms Championship leaderboard with a stellar 11-under 61, joining Nick Watney and Sahith Theegala at the top of the leaderboard, but Seamus Power missed the cut in Mississippi.
Power carded a second round 70 that saw him finish two-over par, three shots outside the cut mark. The Waterford golfer did fire six birdies, but four bogeys elsewhere proved costly.
Starting on the back nine, Zalatoris got off to a quick start with back-to-back birdies before picking up another three shots to head into the turn on five under.
The American then carded six more birdies on the front nine, including a run of four straight, to join his compatriots one shot clear on 13-under at the halfway mark of the tournament.
Scotland's Russell Knox was the only Briton to make the cut after carding a strong second-round score of six-under 66 to improve to seven under.
