Rory McIlroy carded his second level-par 72 on the bounce at the Memorial Tournament on Friday.

Heavy rain and lightning had resulted in a two-hour suspension during the first day's play at Muirfield. Consequently, Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington were out much later to start their second rounds.

McIlroy had an up-and-down round on Friday, notching four birdies that were undone by a quartet of bogeys.

He's eight shots behind clubhouse leader Patrick Cantlay who hit a scorching five-under-par 67 to soar to eight-under overall, two clear of fellow American Scottie Scheffler.
