Leona Maguire went close to sealing her place in the knockout stages with another strong performance at the Bank of Hope LPGA matchplay in Las Vegas.
The Cavan woman had led her match with world no 17 Jennifer Kupcho all the way, and was 4 up thru 11, but the American reeled her in to force a half on the final hole.
Both players now have 1.5 points from two games after Maguire (ranked 94) beat Ally Ewing and Kupcho thrashed Christina Kim on Wednesday. OnIy the group winner advances to the last 16.
Maguire faces Kim in the final group match tomorrow when Kupcho plays Ewing. If the joint leaders both win then there will be a sudden-death play-off to see who tops the table.
