Olivia Mehaffey shot a superb three-under-par 69 at the second round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Thursday to soar up the leaderboard.
The Banbridge 23-year-old, currently finishing her Masters at Arizona State University and destined to go pro soon, had opened with a one-over 73 on Wednesday but she was in brilliant form in her second round.
A three-under 69 left Mehaffey on level par, one shot off joint leaders Ingrid Lindblad of Sweden and brilliant 17-year-old American Rose Zhang, the world's No1-ranked amateur.
Julie McCarthy, 21, meanwhile failed to make the cut, finishing on 11-over-par after following up her first-round 78 with a five-over 77.
