Graeme McDowell is three shots off the lead, held by Joel Dahmen and Rafael Campos, after the third round of the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
McDowell, the 2019 champion, carded a 70 to stand on seven under, while the other Irish competitors Seamus Power and Padraig Harrington are further down the leaderboard on one over and two over respectively.
Former Masters champion Danny Willett shot four straight birdies in his round to leap up the standings. The Englishman followed two rounds of 70 with a five-under 67 on Saturday to put him one shot behind the leaders.
He reached the turn on five under and made par on the back nine, mixing two birdies with two bogeys.
American Joel Dahmen took a share of the lead with a 68 and sits on 10 under alongside Campos.
Canadian Michael Gligic is level with Willett in third, while Emiliano Grillo shot a 65 to improve 36 places for a tie of fifth with Thomas Pieters.
