Leona Maguire moved up the leaderboard into a share of 16th place following an impressive three-under 69 at the Gainbridge LPGA in Florida.

The Cavan native sits just two shots outside the top ten on six under par following her second round in the 60s at the Lake Nona event, and will look to maintain that momentum in Sunday's final round.

Despite a bright start where Maguire made a birdie on the second hole, the Slieve Russell golfer handed two back with bogeys on the third and fifth holes.

But after that, the Duke University graduate played some great golf around the turn, picking up four birdies in six holes from the ninth to the 14th, before playing the final four holes in level par.

American Nelly Korda leads the tournament on 13-under par following consecutive 68s to add to her opening five-under 67.

Korda, 22, mixed five birdies with one bogey to finish with a four-under 68, while 21-year-old Thail Patty Tavatanakit shot an impressive seven birdies including four in the last five holes, for a six-under 66 that had her one stroke back overall at 12-under.

New Zealand's Lydia Ko, who led through the first two days, double-bogeyed on the 12th to finish the day with an even 72 and be three shots behind Korda along with American Angel Yin and Jin Young Ko of South Korea.

Former world number one Annika Sorenstam, in her first appearance on the LPGA tour in more than 12 years and playing because the tournament was at her home course, played poorly around the green to finish 22 strokes off the pace.
