Olivia Mehaffey and Julie McCarthy will both compete at the Augusta National Women's Amateur tournament which returns on 31 March after a one-year hiatus.

The tournament did not take place last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both Mehaffey and McCarthy received invitations last month and were named in the 85-player field on Tuesday.

The first two rounds of the event are scheduled for 31 March and 1 April at the Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta.

The field then will dwindle to 30 players, and after a practice round at Augusta National on 2 April, the final day of the 54-hole competition will take place on 3 April at the famed course.

The Masters Tournament will take place the following week.

Augusta National introduced the women's tournament in 2019, when Jennifer Kupcho earned the win. Kupcho has since turned professional, so she cannot participate this year.
