Golf and tennis clubs will remain open under the latest Covid-19 Government restrictions, which will come into force on Christmas Eve until at least 12 January.
Both sports had to draw stumps under Level 5 restrictions in the last lockdown announced in mid-October, but have now been given the all-clear to continue this time around.
Gyms, leisure centres and swimming pools can also remain open, but for individual training only.
No matches or events can take place except for professional and elite sports, and horse racing and greyhound racing will be behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Horse Racing Ireland has announced that no Irish-trained horses or Irish jockeys will go to the UK to compete between now and the end of the month when the UK travel ban is due to expire.
