The final round of the US Women's Open will be completed on Monday following heavy rain in Houston.

The United States Golf Association had moved up the tee times because of the risk of thunderstorms in the area, but in the event only just over an hour’s play was possible on Sunday.

Overnight leader Hinako Shibuno of Japan was unable to tee off and will resume on Monday with a one-shot advantage over American Amy Olson.

England’s Bronte Law is seven shots off the lead in a tie for 19th after completing two holes of her final round.

It will be the first Monday finish for the US Women’s Open since South Korea’s Ryu So-yeon won in 2011.
