Robert Streb beat fellow American Kevin Kisner in a play-off to claim the RSM Classic at Sea Island.
The 33-year-old, who led by two shots going into the final round, was hunted down by fellow Kisner, who finished with a seven-under 63.
But Streb, whose fourth-round 68 was his worst of the tournament, held his nerve to birdie the second play-off hole and take the title.
Cameron Tringale's eight-under 62 secured him outright third place, one shot behind on 18 under.
Shane Lowry’s final-round 67 saw him move up to tied for 50th, while Graeme McDowell finished tied for 59th on two under par.
