Ireland's Leona Maguire carded an excellent second-round 69 to move to two-under at the Shoprite LPGA Classic, nine shots behind leader Nasa Hataoka.

Maguire had opened with a 71 in New Jersey on Thursday but she bettered that by two to get inside the cut mark of even-par.

Stephanie Meadow will also compete this weekend after following up her first-round one-under 70 with a one-over 72. Meadow is level par for the tournament.

Japan's Hataoka followed up Thursday's sensational 64 with a sizzling 67 to lie one shot ahead of England's Mel Reid and Mi Hyang Lee of South Korea.
