Leona Maguire made a move up the leaderboard at the ANA Inspiration following a superb 68 in the third round of the major event in California.

The Cavan woman hit six birdies and dropped just one shot to go three under overall and move into a share of 28th, nine shots behind leaders Brooke Henderson and Nelly Korda heading into the final day.

Stephanie Meadow is a shot further back after a third round 73, while amateur Olivia Mehaffey hit 77 to move out to nine over par.

Henderson carded a near-flawless round of 65 to take a share of the lead, as the Canadian picked up six shots before the turn - including an eagle three at the second - ending up on 12 under for the tournament going into the final day.

The only blot on her card was a dropped shot on the 13th and she shares top spot with overnight leader Nelly Korda whose uneven round of 71 included four birdies and a double bogey at the sixth.

The pair sit two shots ahead of a pack of three heading into Sunday, with Katherine Kirk, Lexi Thompson and Mirim Lee all within striking distance.

England's Mel Reid is tied for seventh, her round of 69 leaving her on eight under for the tournament, while compatriot Jodi Ewart Shadoff is four shots further back and tied for 21st.
