A steady round of 71 left Stephanie Meadow eight shots off the pace of the ANA Inspriation as Nelly Korda hit five birdies to stay ahead at the halfway stage.

Meadow started brightly, birdying her second hole but a bogey on the fourth wiped that out before she added another birdie on the seventh.

That would be the final hole of the day where Meadow didn't make par as she signed for a round of 71 to leave her on three under, in a tie for 22nd place.

Leona Maguire goes into the weekend on one over par having posted a level par 72 on Friday with two bogeys cancelling out two birdies.

Star amateur Olivia Mehaffey also made the cut following her one under 71, which leaves her on four over par heading into the weekend.

American Korda built a two-shot lead heading into the third day, missing just one fairway in what was a near-faultless second round performance.

She picked up five birdies on the way to posting a five-under 67 and a clean scorecard.

Korda sits two shots in front of South Korea's Mirim Lee, who rose to second on the leaderboard thanks to a seven-under 65.

Following closely behind are Denmark's Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Lexi Thompson of the US, who finished the second round tied for third on seven under.

England's Mel Reid heads into the third round tied for seventh courtesy of a two-under 70. One stroke back from Reid on five under is fellow Briton Georgia Hall. Hall carded four birdies and a bogey to close out the second round tied for seventeenth.
