Irish trio Mark Power, Marc Boucher and Tom McKibbin overcame their opponents to advance to the third round of the 125th Amateur Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Kilkenny's Power beat Jannik de Bruyn of Germany 2&1, while Carton House's Boucher saw off England's Enrique Dimayuga 3&2 and Holywood's McKibbin defeated German Laurenz Schiergen by two holes.
However, fellow Irish contender Robert Moran lost 4&3 against 2019 Walker Cup player Thomas Plumb and Rowan Lester was defeated 6&4 by England's Barclay Brown.
McKibbin will now face Brown on Friday, while Power and Boucher will also take on English opponents in the shape of Jack Dyer and Matty Lamb respectively in round three.
England's Ben Schmidt justified his position as the top-ranked player in the field after advancing to the third round.
Schmidt, who is 35th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, beat Germany's Brandon Dietzel 3&2 at to set up an all-English clash in the last 32 with Callan Barrow, who defeated Scotland's Lewis Irvine 2&1.
Scottish teenager, Ruben Lindsay, who led the qualifiers from Wednesday's stroke play round, lost 2&1 to Finland's Ilari Saulo.
France's David Ravetto, who won the Brabazon Trophy last week, beat English Amateur champion Jack Cope 5&4.
