At the third round of the Ladies Scottish Open, Leona Maguire carded a third round of 71 to leave her at two over, nine shots adrift of the leader.

It was a real mixed bag for the Cavan player at The Renaissance Club, with four birdies and four bogies in her round.

But it was an improvement of sorts from the two 72s she carded in her opening rounds on Thursday and Friday.

The current leaders is Azahara Munoz of Spain who finished on seven under after a 69..

Munoz will take a slender lead into the final round in pursuit of a sixth title on the Ladies European Tour.

She is a shot ahead of playing partner and former world number one Stacy Lewis, who returned a 70.

Lewis' fellow American Jennifer Song is two shots off the lead on five under, with compatriot Cheyenne Knight and New Zealand's Lydia Ko another stroke back.
