Northern Ireland's Stephanie Meadow is five shots off the pace at the Marathon LPGA Classic after carding an opening day 69 in Ohio.

Meadow recorded birdies on the second, 10th and 16th holes, while a bogey on the 12th was the only black mark on the Jordanstown professional's card at Highland Meadows in Sylvania.

World number two Danielle Kang tops the leaderboard alongside Lydia Ko after a seven-under 64, while American Megan Khang is a shot further back.

Ko boasts superb form at the event, with the New Zealander triumphing in 2014 and 2016, finishing third in 2015, sharing seventh in 2013 and tying for 20th on her last visit in 2017.
