As part of the Morning Ireland sporting moment series, we've been looking back on some of the best and most memorable moments in Irish sport.

Today we turn to golf on a rain-drenched Baltray in Co Louth in 2009 when Shane Lowry claimed the Irish Open as an amateur.

It proved to be the start of a magical journey for the Offaly native en route to becoming a major winner a decade later.
