A women's golf event in Abu Dhabi which was due to start on Friday has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Organisers of The Ladies Open at Yas Links announced on Wednesday that the two-day event featuring 36 professionals playing with amateur partners had been called off.
A statement on the tournament's Twitter feed read: "As a precautionary and proactive measure, in conjunction with the local authorities, the decision has been made to postpone The Ladies Open at Yas Links Abu Dhabi until further notice.
"This decision is to ensure the health, safety and well-being of players, guests and visitors."
On the men's European Tour, Italy's Francesco Laporta has been forced out of this week's Qatar Masters after being faced with two weeks' quarantine on arriving in Doha.
Under travel restrictions imposed on Sunday, passengers arriving in Doha on direct flights from Italy, or those having been in Italy in the last two weeks, will be taken into quarantine for 14 days.
Laporta competed in the Oman Open last week but told the ANSA news agency that he was checked, along with 40 compatriots arriving from Milan Malpensa, when landing in Doha.
"We were treated with respect and welcomed also by the Italian ambassador but there were two solutions, quarantine for two weeks or return home," Laporta said.
"I had no alternative. I took a flight to Rome and now I'm going to Puglia."
Six other Italian players who competed in Oman were allowed into Qatar.
