Leona Maguire agonisingly missed the cut at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio despite shooting a superb second-round five-under-par 67.
The damage was done for Maguire on day one when she shot a disastrous seven-over 79 that left her with huge work to do to make the weekend.
It's to the Cavan woman's credit that she gave it such a good rattle.
The 25-year-old, in her maiden season on the LPGA Tour, carded six birdies in a terrific showing that left her just a single shot outside the cut mark.
Stephanie Meadow produced another solid round in Florida to extend her tournament.
Meadow is on one-under overall, nine off the leader Madalene Sagstrom.
The Swede rocketed up the leaderboard thanks to a stunning ten-under 62 that included 11 birdies. She's one clear of Spaniard Carlota Ciganda, who sits on nine-under.
