Seamus Power is a shot off the lead after the opening round of the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Power carded a score of 65 to finish on seven-under-par. He began his round on the 10th and was six under thru six. He then had an eagle at the par-five 14th and a birdie on 15.

Birdies on 16 and 18 threatened to spoil his day, but he came home with three more birdies.

The Waterford player is in a share for second alongside Australia's Cameron Percy and American Robert Streb share

American Tom Hoge produced a bogey-free, eight-under-par 64 to lead after a rain-shortened first day in Jackson, Mississippi.
