Seamus Power made the cut at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina as he continued his battle to hold onto his PGA Tour Card.

The Waterford man followed Thursday's 64 with a one under par 69, to move back to a tie for 27th place on 7 under par.

Power started the tournament 144th in the FedEx Cup rankings, but he needs to be in the top 125 in order to avoid entering a play-off to retain his card.

Former teenage prodigy An Byeong-hun seized the sole halfway lead as big guns Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth and Paul Casey focused their sights for a weekend shootout.

An remained bogey-free for the tournament as he carded a tidy five-under-par 65 in the second round on a languid afternoon at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.

"It was an okay day," the 27-year-old South Korean said after signing for a 13-under 127 score.

It wasn't a good day for Padraig Harrington. The Dubliner's 69 saw him finish on 3 under par, which was one stroke outside the cut.

Lurking equal 12th, Spieth is still mixing some fine play with the occasional poor swing, and he found a ready scapegoat for a wayward second shot at the par-five 15th that ended up out-of-bounds.

"The cart paths are just so inconveniently placed. I almost think of them as the out-of-bounds markers," said the three-time major winner.

"If it stays in play, I think I look at the round a little bit differently than just average."

Playing companion Casey was certainly impressed with Spieth's putting.

"Jordan was making the hole look like a bucket," said the Englishman, who predicts a winning score of at least 20-under.

"I'm happy with another 65," he said. "Can I get two more of those?"
