Padraig Harrington, Seamus Power and Michael Hoey have all missed out on securing qualifying spots for next week's US Open at Pebble Beach.

Harrington missed out on securing one of three places on offer at the sectional qualifying in Canada by just two shots, hitting three birdies and two bogeys throughout his final round.

Power, who hit double-bogeys on the seventh and 13th holes of the final round, finished well down the field.

14 places were on offer at Walton Heath yesterday where Hoey also finished well behind the leaders.

Former champions Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell and Shane Lowry have already qualified for the third major of the year.

Hoey was the only Irish player in action at Walton Heath where sectional qualifying took place over 36 holes.

He finished on one-under while Ryder Cup player Thomas Pieters was among the 14 qualifiers finishing on eight-under or better.
