Stephanie Meadow opened with an impressive three-under-par 70 in the opening round of the ISPS Handa Vic Open in Australia.

The Ladies PGA Tour event is running alongside the men's European Tour event in Geelong and the Jordanstown native sits in a share for 22nd place at the end of the opening round.

Meadow, back playing on the LPGA Tour this year, having secured her card on the Symatra Tour, hit four birdies with her only dropped shot coming on the par-five second hole.

Meadown played on the Creek Course to open and will mover to the Beach Course for Friday's second round.

Leona Maguire is also in the field and opened with a one-over-par 73 on the Beach Course.

England's Felicity Johnson carded an eight-under-par 65 to claim a two-shot lead over America's Kim Kaufman, Canada's Anne-Catherine Tanguay and Australia's Su Oh.

Women's British Open champion Georgia Hall is level with Meadow, five shots off the lead after a 70, with Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthew carding a 72.
