Leona Maguire made a good start in her European Tour professional debut before heavy rain cut her first round short at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open.
The Cavan native was in a share of ninth place, on one under par after five holes, before the elements intervened.
Only half the field of 96 players had completed 18 holes when play was suspended due to a waterlogged course. The first round will resume on Friday morning.
Maguire was runner-up at the 2015 European Masters while still an amateur but this will be the first event in Europe where she can earn prize money.

Thomson and Van Dam both carded 68s to take the clubhouse lead and Young had played the back nine in three-under-par 32 before play was suspended.
European number one Georgia Hall and the defending champion Azahara Muñoz were both on two-under-par after five holes, alongside María Hernández (thru 8), Olivia Cowan (thru 9) and Agathe Sauzon.
