Ireland's Rio Olympian Seamus Power, playing in only his fourth PGA Tour event, is just three off the lead heading for the final day of the OHL Classic after carding seven birdies in a blemish-free seven-under-par 64.

The Waterford man was five behind the leader heading into today's round and he caught fire in Mexico to keep himself in the conversation for what would be a spectacular victory. Power is now 15-under for the tournament.

American Gary Woodland remained in contention for his first PGA Tour victory in more than three years as he heads into the final day with a one-shot lead.

The 32-year-old, whose last win came at the Reno-Tahoe Open Stableford event in August 2013, shot a five-under 66 in Playa del Carmen to move to 18 under and retain his slender overnight advantage.

However, his lead could have been greater as he was seven under through 13 holes before a double-bogey five - his first dropped shot in 48 holes - halted his progress.

Pat Perez's nine-under 62 - which contained an eagle, eight birdies and a bogey - saw him move into second place outright.

Scott Piercy is another stroke further back but Webb Simpson, Woodland's nearest challenger after the first two rounds, fell four shots off the lead after a 69.
