Scott Piercy is sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard of the Safeway Open after setting a new course record at Napa, California.
The American sunk 12 birdies in his 10-under-par 62 which puts him two shots clear of Paul Casey and Patton Kizzire after the first round of the season-opening tournament.
Irish Olympian Seamus Power, playing his first ever round on the PGA Tour, carded a one-over-par 73 to lie in a tie for 102nd.
Starting on the back nine Piercy enjoyed a blemish-free opening half of his round as he made the turn in six-under and made six more birdies on the front nine.
He did blot his copybook with two bogeys, though, which ended any hopes of threatening Jim Furyk's PGA Tour record score of 58.

He told pgatour.com: "I think I made more putts in feet than I did all of last season. We have been working on the putter a lot and today was a good start to the season."
Englishman Casey fired eight birdies in a bogey-free round to sit in tied-second with Kizzire, who also went round without dropping a shot.
Spain's Jon Rahm has a debut PGA Tour round to remember as he made a hole-in-one in just his second hole.
Rahm fired his seven-iron tee shot on the par-three 11th directly in the hole.
Phil Mickelson, a member of USA's winning Ryder Cup side a fortnight ago, carded a two-under 70.
