Ireland's Paul Dunne is well placed ahead of the final round of the Made in Denmark tournament, sitting in a tie for sixth place.
The Wicklow golfer, who is four shots behind leader Bradley Dredge, carded a third-round 69 to move to eight-under-par for the tournament.
However, the round was somewhat bittersweet as a bogey on the final hole prevented Dunne from recording his first back-to-back bogey-free rounds.
"It was a bit annoying because I’ve never in a tournament played two bogey-free rounds in a row so to drop one on the last is a bit annoying, but my game is in pretty good shape," Dunne said.
"I’ve been hitting it pretty well, giving myself a lot of chances - I just haven’t capitalised on the chances."
Having recorded three-under-par 68s for his first two rounds, Dunne is clearly enjoying the familiar conditions in Denmark.
"Yesterday, the first six or seven holes I played it was like playing amateur golf back home in Ireland, it was really windy."
Currently ranked 122nd on the European Tour, Dunne needs to improve his ranking and break into the top 110 in order to secure his card for next year.
A high finish in Denmark would go some of the way to doing just that, although Dunne says he will decide if the pressure has been relieved on Sunday evening.
Having taken time out over the summer to mend his game, the Wicklow man knows he needs to deliver in the next few weeks.
"I needed to clear my head and get back to work with my coach in America so the break was good for me.
"I’ve come back and I’m ready to get to work and seal the deal in the next few weeks."
Meanwhile, Offaly's Shane Lowry is tied for 20th place in Denmark, after his two-under round of 69 brought him to -4 overall.
Speaking after shooting a blistering 65 yesterday, Lowry admitted it would take a win, or at the very least a high placing, to secure a wildcard selection for the upcoming Ryder Cup.
An eagle on the par five sixth helped Cormac Sharvin to a tie for 34th place on -2, with the man ranked 1,835th in the world in line for a career-best finish.
No such luck for Peter Lawrie however, as a third-round 79 saw him drop to eight-over, good enough for 71st place.
At the top of the leaderboard, Dredge is one shot ahead of the chasing trio of David Lipsky, Adrian Otaegui and Thomas Pieters.
