Wesley Bryan held a one-shot lead at the end of a second weather-affected day of the John Deere Classic in Illinois which saw overnight leader Andrew Loupe plummet down the leaderboard.
Bryan, in his first tournament since his promotion for winning his third event on the Web.com Tour last week, had five birdies in the space of seven holes on his way to a round of seven-under 64, moving him to 12 under for the tournament.
That left him one shot clear of Steve Marino, back in the clubhouse following a round of 65, and two clear of Tom Gillis, who signed for a 68.
Marino dropped a shot on the 11th but was pleased with the overall results.
"I finally started to hit the ball well," he said. I've been struggling all year with ball striking but I really hit the ball well today and gave myself chances for birdies."
Loupe, however, could only manage a round of 70 after bogeys on the 15th and 17th holes.
Following further delays due to the wet weather, several players were yet to complete their opening rounds, and the likes of Zach Johnson and Ryan Moore - who ended day one with a share of the clubhouse lead - had barely started when darkness fell.
