Ireland’s Shane Lowry has slipped back to a share of fourth place at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Arizona.
Lowry shared the lead in the desert after the first round with Rickie Fowler and Hideki Matsuyama, but a round of 70, which included five birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey, left him on seven under, three shots behind new leader James Hahn.
Hahn struck a six-under-par 65 to sit at the top of the leaderboard at the midway point, registering six birdies in a blemish-free round which moved him to 10 under for the tournament.
Fowler carded a 68 to advance to nine under, striking four birdies and a solitary bogey.
Fowler is joined on nine under by New Zealand's Danny Lee, whose seven birdies and two bogeys saw him sign off on a 66.
Matsuyama, like Lowry, struck a 70 to share fourth place with the Offaly man and Harris English.
Greystones golfer Paul Dunne looks likely to miss the cut on one over as he added a 71 to his opening round of 72, though play was suspended due to bad light with a number of players' rounds incomplete.
Compatriot Padraig Harrington is certain to miss the concluding two round after finishing on four over.
There was a nice moment for rookie Jack Maguire, who struck a hole in one on the 12th, but he still finished on 12 over, with the damage done after yesterday's 83.
