World number Jordan Spieth hit a hole in one to lie one shot off the pace after the opening round of the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Paul Casey, who didn't drop a shot, sunk his sixth birdie of the day to finish with a 66 to join Jimmy Walker and Zach Johnson at the top of the leaderboard on six under in Albany.

Last year's runaway champion Spieth finished on 67 alongside Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Bill Haas and Brooks Koepka.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama was the only player in the 18-man field not to go under par as he props up the leaderboard on three over, while Justin Rose is five off the pace following a one-under 71.
