The R&A has announced the events which will make up qualifying for next year's British Open at Royal Troon in Scotland.

A total of 44 places at the 145th Open are available through the series, which gives players in six tours the opportunity to qualify at events around the world.

The road begins at the Emirates Australian Open, which takes place from November 26-29, and continues with the Thailand Golf Championship (December 10-13).

January's Joburg Open in South Africa and May's Mizuno Open in Japan also offer chances, while new events to feature in the series are June's Nordea Masters in Stockholm and the FedEx St Jude Classic in Tennessee.

The qualifying series on the European Tour concludes with the Alstom Open de France and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, and with the Quicken Loans National and the Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour.

The leading three players who finish in the top 10 and ties and who are not already exempt, will qualify for the July 14-17 event in Scotland.
