Paul Dunne continued his fine form at the US Amateur Championships with two more victories that saw him claim a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Dunne first claimed a 3&2 victory over Caleb Proveaux which saw him claim a place in the final 16.
The Greystones golfer was rarely troubled by his American opponent and took control of the match early on, winning the second hole.
Proveaux did draw level at the fifth but that was as good as it got for him as Dunne re-established his lead at the next hole and extended that lead by taking the eighth and ninth.
Proveaux was unable to find a way back into the match as the duo shared the next seven holes, allowing Dunne to take victory.
The 22-year-old Irishman next faced David Oraee, who he also overcame 3&2.
Oraee took an early lead, winning the second hole as Dunne hit a doubly bogey but from then on, the Irishman didn't look back and he won six holes over the course of the match to cruise into the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere Robbie Cannon, winner of the silver medal as leading qualifier, won twice today in the AIG Irish Close Championship at Tramore to reach the last 16.
Two member's of last week's Home Internationals winning side - Alex Gleeson and Robin Dawson - also won twice with Dawson closing out his matches on the 14th and the 15th.
However the pre-tournament favourite, Colin Fairweather, lost in the first round to Shaun Carter
