JJ Henry will take a one-point lead into the final round of the Barracuda Championship on Sunday after a birdie on the final hole of his third round.

Henry had nine birdies and one bogey on Saturday to collect 17 points, moving him on to 41 in the PGA Tour's only event to use a modified Stableford scoring system.

The 40-year-old, who collected one of his two PGA Tour titles at this event in 2012, leads by one point from 2011 winner David Toms and Sweden's Jonas Blixt.

"I tell you, this course, this place, is good to me," Henry said. "As I mentioned before, I love being here. I am fortunate enough to obviously win in 2012 and have bunch of other top finishes.

"I just love coming and playing here. It's just a great place. Obviously a fun format. When you make a lot of birdies like I did today it makes it even more fun."

Toms, 48, had 10 birdies and two bogeys to pick up 18 points, while Blixt picked up 16 points, with an eagle on the par-five eighth and seven birdies - but also three bogeys.

Robert Garrigus added 16 points to sit four off the lead at 37, while the 23-year-old Patrick Rodgers, who looks to have done enough to secure a PGA Tour card for next year, is fifth, six points back.

Under the scoring system used, players receive eight points for a double eagle, five for eagle, two for birdie, zero for par, minus-one for bogey and minus-three for a double bogey or worse.
