World amateur number one Leona Maguire has qualified in pole position for the match play round of the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championshipwith a score of 11 under par.
64 players move through to the next stage of the competition, which will begin at 7.30 on Thursday morning with Cavan native Leona taking on the 64th player to qualify, Martina Edberg of Sweden.
Leona's twin sister Lisa also qualified for the matchplay stage with a 72, a second-round improvement of six shots, for a total of 150.
Qualifying in second and third positions overall were England's Jessica Bradley and France's Celine Boutier who, at five under par, trailed Leona by 6 shots.
The considerable difference in score after just two rounds shows Leona's confidence around this course, however the stroke advantage means nothing anymore as the match play begins.
Leona followed up her first-round 67 with a 68 over the par 72 (36-37) course.
Her impressive round featured eight birdies including 2s at all the par-3 holes: the third, sixth, twelth and fifteenth where she put it close everytime.
"I nearly had a hole in one at the fifteenth, only 2 or 3 inches away from going in there," said Leona.
Duke University team-mate and her predecessor as World No 1 female amateur, Celine Boutier from France - playing in the same threesome as Leona and Kristen Gillman (USA) - had a second-round 72 for a qualifying total of 142.
First-round leader Elin Esborn from Gothenburg recorded a round of 81 to leave her sitting at 1 over.
