Hugh Smith from Mourne made a birdie at the final hole to clinch the Irish Seniors Amateur Open at Rosslare GC title by a single stroke from Portmarnock’s Adrian Morrow.

Morrow made a stirring final day charge and needed two putts for a birdie at the long 18th and a 71 which would have seen him take the lead with Smith, who was waiting to play his second shot.

Overnight leader Michael Coote faded with an 80 to finish in fourth place .
