Damian Mooney made a late charge to move top of the Irish PGA Championship leaderboard after round one at Seapoint golf club in Louth.
Scotland’s Neil Manchip was leading on five-under until Mooney completed his round of 66 as light faded to lead by one on six-under.
Brian McElhinney and Des Smyth both shot 69s to trail Mooney by three with a group of seven one shot further back.
Mark O’Sullivan, Enda McLoughlin, Shane Lowry, Patrick Devine, Barrie Trainor, David Mortimer and Garry Cullen are all on two-under.
